2022 GMC Yukon XL

The 2022 GMC Yukon XL comes in SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali trim levels. This model has an overall length of 225.2 inches, making it 15.2 inches longer than the Yukon. As a result of its massive dimensions, it stands out from the crowd wherever it goes. Truck-like styling elements such as a nearly vertical front end, a dominant grille, a pronounced hood, and C-clamp headlamps give the Yukon XL a tough and aggressive appearance. However, the SUV has a relatively sleek profile, thanks to its downward-sloping roof-line and black D-pillars that create an illusion of a wraparound rear window.

The GMC Yukon XL offers three engine options. The SLE, SLT, and AT4 trims come standard with a 5.3-liter V-8 that delivers 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The Denali, on the other hand, gets its power from a 6.2-liter V-8 that creates 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This engine is available as an option on the AT4. If you want to save on gas, go for the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine rated at 460 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of which engine you choose, the Yukon XL uses a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Despite its enormous size, the GMC Yukon XL demonstrates impressive ride motion control. It feels composed whether you're driving at a high speed or negotiating a tight turn. In addition, its independent suspension does a fine job of absorbing uneven surfaces such as bumps and potholes, resulting in a comfortable and serene ride. Due to its responsive electric steering, the Yukon XL is easier to maneuver than most other vehicles of its size.

Up to eight people can be seated in the 2022 GMC Yukon XL. While its front- and second-row seats are equally spacious as those of the Yukon, it offers an additional 1.8 inches of legroom in the third row. Also, this SUV has a significantly larger cargo area than its standard-length counterpart. Its cargo capacity ranges from 41.5 cubic feet behind the rearmost seats to an incredible 144.7 cubic feet behind the front seats. To keep you connected and entertained behind the wheel, the Yukon XL offers a generous list of tech features as standard equipment. These features include a 12-inch digital instrument panel, a 10.2-inch touch-screen infotainment display, satellite radio, HD radio, six USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker sound system.
