The GMC Terrain is a segment-leading vehicle that delivers bold
styling, agile handling, premium features and impressive cargo
capacity. Terrain also offers outstanding efficiency, delivering
best-in-segment highway fuel economy of 32 mpg on 4-cylinder,
front-wheel-drive models. In addition to the 4-cylinder engine,
Terrain offers a V6 engine and all models are available in either
FWD or AWD configurations. The 2012 GMC Terrain is offered in
four trim levels: SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1 and STL-2.

TOP TEN FEATURES
1. Color Touch Radio - Now standard audio system includes a
7" color touch-screen display, AM/FM/SiriusXM, CD player,
MP3 playback capability and Radio Data System. It also
features speed-compensated volume, and auxiliary input jack
and outside temperature display.
2. Color Touch Navigation - Includes the features of the Color
Touch Radio and adds GPS navigation, SD memory card, USB
port, iPod support, traffic and weather information, a photo
viewer and album art.
3. Bold style - Muscular fender flares, a prominent grille and

give Terrain a bold, athletic appearance.
4. Powerful, efficient engines - Terrain's two available engines
include both Direct Injection and Variable Valve Timing for
increased power and enhanced efficiency. Both engines
are also FlexFuel capable and can run on up to 85 percent
ethanol. The 2.4L 4-cylinder puts out 182 hp and returns up
to 32 mpg highway. The 3.0L V6 engine produces
264 hp and delivers up to 24 mpg highway.
5. Standard Rear Vision Camera System - Improves rearward
visibility when backing up. It helps drivers to better see
certain items behind the vehicle when backing up at low
speeds or when parallel parking.
6. Standard Multi-Flex rear seat - The exclusive Multi-Flex
sliding rear seat has almost 8" of fore-and-aft travel. It
provides segment-leading leg room and first-class rear-seat
accommodations. The Multi-Flex rear seat has three recline
positions and is split-folding flexibility.
7. Power-programmable liftgate - The available power-
programmable liftgate can be activated from the key fob,
overhead console or from a button on the liftgate itself. It
can be programmed to accommodate the owner's height,
garage height or any other height restraints.
8. Navigation with Rear-Seat Entertainment - Monitors are
integrated into the rear of both front seatbacks. Operation
is through the audio system controls, the hand-held
remote or through the video input jacks integrated into
each monitor. The DVD-based navigation system includes
voice recognition.
9. Connectivity - A standard USB port in the center console
allows the connection and playback of music stored
on portable electronic devices. Standard Bluetooth allows
the connection of compatible Bluetooth phones to the
vehicle's audio system for making and receiving hands-free
phone calls.
10.Safety - With its responsive steering, ABS and StabiliTrak,
drivers are better able to avoid crashes. The air bag and
safety belt systems help protect occupants during a crash.

on SLT-1.
Standard features - Every Terrain includes Bluetooth for
Phone, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering column, a
multifunction Driver Information Center, power windows
with Express-Down, power-programmable door locks, Remote
Keyless Entry, Color Touch Radio, a Rear Vision Camera
System and OnStar with six months of OnStar Directions &
Connections Plan.
Standard front bucket seats - Include power lumbar and
power height adjuster for the driver. Driver seat provides
segment-leading fore/aft adjustment-more than 10". SLE-2
and SLT models add an 8-way power driver seat. SLT-2 models
also add driver seat and mirror memory.
Heated front seats - With cloth (available on SLE-2) or
leather-appointed seating (standard on SLT).
Multi-Flex rear seat - Provides nearly 8" of fore/aft travel
for maximum rear passenger leg room on increased cargo
capacity. Each seatback folds forward and includes three
positions: straight, 5% recline and 10% recline.
Rear Vision Camera System - Features a display within the
touch-screen audio system. Standard on all models.

Driver Information Center - Monitors 26 various systems
including Vehicle Information Menu (oil life, tire pressure,
standard/metric units) and Trip Infomation Menu (trip 1,
trip 2, fuel range, average fuel economy, instant fuel economy,
average vehicle speed) and compass display. Standard on
all models.
Advanced Remote Start - Allows Terrain to be started from
over 325' away. The System also automatically adjusts
temperatures for maximum heat and defrost on vehicles
equipped with automatic climate control. Standard on SLT;
available on SLE-2.
Bluetooth - Connects a cell phone to the vehicle's audio
system. Standard on all models.
USB port - Allows the connection and playback of media files
stored on a portable electronic device. Information from a
connected device is displayed on the audio system screen.

OnStar - The Directions & Connections Plan is stardard for
the first six months on Terrain and combines all of the Safe &
Sound Plan services with Turn-by-Turn Navigation, eNav with

viewing. Video input jacks are integrated into both screen
modules or are accessed at the rear of the center console.
Dual play capability allows video games to be played on
one screen while a DVD movie plays on the other. Available
on SLT-2 models.

POWER & PERFORMANCE
2.4L FlexFuel I4 engine - Standard on all Terrain models,
this engine is one of the most advanced 4-cylinder engines
available in North America. Direct Injection (DI) and Variable
Valve Timing (VVT) ensure impressive performance and
efficiency. For 2012, this engine adds available E85 FlexFuel
capability. The 2.4L is rated at:
- 182 hp @ 6700 rpm.
- 174 lb.-ft of torque @ 4800 rpm.
3.0L FlexFuel V6 engine - Available on all Terrain models
except SLE-1, this engine is one of the most powerful and fuel-
efficient V6 engines on the market. Like the 2.4L engine, DI
and VVT are included for enhanced power and efficiency. The
3.0L is rated at:
- 264 hp @ 6950 rpm.
- 222 lb.-ft of torque @ 5100 rpm.
Outstanding fuel economy - All models deliver exceptional
fuel economy. Four-cylinder models have best-in-class fuel
economy ratings and V6 models are very competitive.

Impressive cruising range - Outstanding fuel economy
combined with large fuel tanks (18.8 gallons on I4 models;
20.9 gallons on V6 models) deliver impressive highway
cruising ranges of over 500 miles on I4and V6 models.
6-speed automatic transmission - All Terrain models include
a 6-speed automatic transmission. Four-cylinder models
feature the Hydra-Matic 6T45; V6 models use the Hydra-Matic
6T70. Transission features include:
- ECO button: Alters shift patterns and powertrain
calibrations to provide maximum fuel economy
(4-cylinder models).
- Auto-grade braking: The transmission automatically shifts
into a lower gear while braking on a downgrade to help
preserve brake life.
- Electronic Range Select (ERS): Allows the driver to manually
control the top gear. This is especially helpfulwhen driving
downhill or towing a trailer.
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) - ANC is standard on all
Terrains with a 4-cylinder engine to counteract audible
harmonics created from the tuning of the engine for optimal
fuel economy. ANC uses microphones to detect sounds inside
the vehicle and sends counteracting sound waves through the
audio system's speakers, ensuring a quiet driving experience
at almost all vehicle speeds.
Towing capacity - Four-cylinder models are rated to tow up to
1500 lbs.; V6 models are able to tow up to 3500 lbs Factory-
installed trailing equipment (a rear receiver hitch and 4-wire
connection) is available on all models except SLE-1.
RIDE & HANDLING
Body Frame Inteqral (BFI) architecture - Provides a rigid
and strong platform for stable and secure handling and
a smooth ride.
Independent suspension - Terrain features a 4-wheel
independent suspension system: MacPherson struts in front
and multi-link in the rear. This setup gives Terrain car-like
handling and road feel.
4-wheel disc brakes with Antilock Braking System (ABS) -
This standard system uses disc brakes for effective stopping
performance and ABS to help drivers maitain control by
reducing wheel lockup during hard braking on most slippery
surfaces. A hill-hold feature prevents Terrain from rolling
backward when the driver moves their foot from the brake to
the accelerator on steep inclines.
StabiliTrak - Standard on all models, the system includes
Traction Control and Roll-Over Mitigation.
Hill-hold feature - Prevents the vehicle from rolling backward
when the driver moves their foot from the brake to the
accelerator on steep inclines.
Steering system - An electric rack-mounted power steering
system is used on 4-cylinder models. V6 models utilize
a hydraulic system.
Electronic on-demand all wheel drive - During normal
driving on dry roads, the system runs in front-wheel drive
mode for optimum fuel economy. When front wheel slippage
is detected, the system automatically sends power to the
rear wheels, ensuring that power is always delivered to
the wheels with the most traction. This action occurs
automatically and seamlessly, with no driver input.
